Grammar Tip → Usage of "Like" and "As"

You may be confusing the words like and as  with each other. Consider replacing one with the other. Let's learn their correct usage :- Like is most often used as a preposition to express a resemblance or  sameness .   (This perfume smells like roses) . When as  is used as a preposition, it means “ in the role of. ”     (I worked as a teacher for years.) Incorrect→  She looks as  my friend Mona. Correct →  She looks like my friend Mona . Incorrect→  I worked like a teacher for years. Correct→   I worked as  a teacher for years.
